Oleic Acids

Oleic Acids are the most abundant of the unsaturated fatty acids in nature. It’s a monounsaturated omega-9 fatty acid found in various animal and vegetable sources. It’s been identified in various foods such as brown rice and beef. It’s a pale yellow or brownish yellow oily liquid with a lard-like odour, insoluble in water. It’s often used in the food industry to make synthetic butters and cheeses, and to flavour baked goods, sweets, ice cream and lemonade. It’s also used for cosmetics in the preparation of moisturisers and ointments.
